The heir to a family tradition of naming children after historically significant diseases. Diphtheria bears her name with pride, but often makes the concession of going by her first initial because she’s tired of people mispronouncing it. They always make a big deal out of it too. As if it’s her fault. It just brings things to a halt. It’s hard to get anything out of someone who’s making a weird face over your cool name. Some people just don’t like new ideas. She’s also tired of hearing about Balto. She knows the story quite well, thank you. Did you know Balto wasn’t really a wolfdog? Diphtheria knows.

Diphtheria is not the most original thinker, but she’s quite adept at taking other people’s work and applying it in new and more effective ways. She considers herself to be a genius. However, as an adult, she seems to be working for the American government.
