Character: Kila Ilo

Kila Ilo appears in KiLA iLO and KiLA iLO: Northern Lights. And probably anything else with the name ‘Kila Ilo’ on it.

Planet of origin: Jukani (although she has not been there in some time).
I pronounce it kee-lah ee-loh. Actually, Kila Ilo is an alias that has become her preferred name in most circumstances. Her real name is Viktiér Frénishin (pronounced vick-tee-air fray-nee-shin), which gets shortened to Té (tay) to friends. At the time of recording, one living person calls her that.

“You gave me an order I was not inclined to follow. I had just discovered I was sharing a planet with an unknown intelligent species, and I wanted to get a look at them before deciding to stay on the planet. There are many men with more money than skill willing to pay me for a fool’s errand, but I believe you will find, Dr. Kao, that there is only one of me…”

“I’m not only angry with you, Macey. I am also… disappointed. It’s unwise for you to be here. For your own sake. You know? It’s dangerous what you’ve done. And impolite as well.”

Kila considers herself to be pragmatic and realistic. It would surprise her to hear herself described as melodramatic. She might concede on ‘paranoid’.

Kila was once arrested for practicing medicine without a license (partly due to a misunderstanding, as there is no such thing as a medical license where she comes from). She seems to have decided this makes her a supervillain, regardless of any of her actions or motivations to the contrary. To an outside observer she looks like an ordinary space drifter taking odd jobs and trying to get by.
